The dancing school was originally called “Take Five School of Dance” and was based in East Preston before moving to Ferring. From Ferring it moved to the Connaught Theatre in the Ritz Ballroom until the Connaught was turned into a cinema.
The school was well established by then and proceeded to add further theatre elements to the timetable so the name was changed from “Take Five School of Dance” to “Nicola Miles Theatre Studios” to encompass theatre arts in 2006. It has operated at various venues over the years and currently holds classes at Worthing College and Findon Valley Free Church in Worthing, West Sussex
The Theatre Studios has gone from strength to strength and has drawn pupils from all over Worthing and surrounding areas.
Its ethos is to provide high class teaching across all its dancing subjects, e.g., ballet, tap, adult tap, modern, contemporary and AcroDance whilst making it fun and inclusive for everyone.
The Theatre Studios provides excellent vocational training for those students who wish to further a career in dance and performing arts. We aim to recognise and develop each student’s potential offering guidance for further progress whilst allowing students to attain a sense of self discipline and commitment.
This outstanding training has been the foundation for enabling students to carry on their careers at Colleges, Universities and Performing Arts Centres at home and abroad.
We are accredited to enter pupils for examinations with the Royal Academy of Dancing and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, two of the largest dance governing bodies in the world.
Past students have gained places at the, Arts Educational School, LIPA, Mountview, Bird College, London Studio Centre, The Centre, Laine Theatre Arts, Masters Performing Arts College, The Royal Academy of Dancing, Rambert, Northern Ballet, Northern Contemporary, Roehampton, Millennium, Performers, Laban and Trinity, Urdang Academy and East 15.
