CHLOE LUCAS
I joined NMTS at the age of 3 and during my time there I danced and performed in many shows and festivals all over the country. I also represemted England in the Dance World Cup in Spain in 2019. I left Nicola Miles Theatre Studios summer 2020 to go and study for a BA (Hons) in Ballet Performance at The School of Ballet Theatre UK (BTUK) in Leicestershire. I was only 16 so I was thrilled to be accepted straight onto the degree course.
We physically train in ballet, contemporary and jazz for about 30 hours a week and then have additional ballet academic studies.
In my first year I continued with my vocational RAD Advanced 1 Ballet at BTUK as an extra curricular activity. During year 1 we performed Swan Lake as a whole school and streamed this due to covid, we also performed in the annual summer showcase and met with many industry specialists for workshops and saw Romeo and Juliet at Birmingham Royal Ballet.
Year 2 we have just auditioned for this years full length ballet production and I start the American Ballet Theatre qualification, in addition to RAD Advanced 2. Summer 2022 I am booked onto multiple summer schools (London and Prague) to gain valuable experience before the start of my grad year.
Wishing all the pupils at NMTS success with whatever they choose to do in their career.
